Inclement weather is defined as any weather event that prompts a designated local public authority to shut down their operations in the name of protecting the public from dangerous weather or travel conditions. For our each location, the public authority we look to for such announcements is the public school district in the area, and absent guidance from them we look to other local public authorities..
If a closure plan is announced by the designated local public authority relevant to either of our site locations, our policy is to shut down our "non-essential" on-site operations as well for the same period of time announced by the public authority.
Minneapolis, Bloomington, and St. Paul public schools will all be closed for Wednesday, March 5th due to bad road conditions associated with heavy snow, which means we will be shutting down our "non-essential" on-site operations for March 5th for our Uptown, Bloomington, and Highland Park sites.
Here is what this means:
The front desk on-site at each location will be closed. Front-desk staff will be working remotely and will continue to answer voicemails and emails sent to the front desk.
All in-person client appointments are cancelled. Most therapists will still be working and available remotely for telehealth appointments, so clients with previously scheduled in-person appointments should check with their therapist whether a telehealth appointment is available at the same time as their previously scheduled in-person appointment. Otherwise, therapists will be happy to reschedule clients for another day.
If conditions improve, therapists and clients have the option to reschedule in-person appointments later today if they believe that the benefits outweigh the risks of travel, but they should be aware that there will be no support or administrative personnel on site.
