COVID-19 Update: New Telehealth Options Now Available!
You asked for it, we're providing it. In response to COVID-19, all of our therapists have agreed to offer all of their regular services via telehealth to anyone who is interested. Our clinic sites in Uptown and Bloomington will remain open for regular in-person sessions, but if anyone needs or wants to meet virtually with one of our therapists via telehealth instead, we're going to make that possible. The most important thing to us is that COVID-19 should not become a barrier to care for anyone seeking mental health assistance.
We have also been hard at work advocating for our clients with all of the major insurance plans to ensure that telehealth sessions with therapists at Catalyst Mental Health will be covered, so that financial issues do not become a barrier to care either. As a result, we now have guarantees from 99% of the major insurance plans that telehealth sessions with all therapists at Catalyst Mental Health will be a covered benefit. If you happen to have one of the few remaining insurance plans that doesn't provide telehealth coverage at this time, we know how to advocate for you to get that changed as well!
If you haven't ever tried a telehealth visit before, or if you're just not that tech-savvy, don't worry: we've made the process surprisingly simple. All you need is a computer, laptop, or mobile device with a webcam and a decent internet connection -- even a smartphone will do. Virtual connections to our providers are made via a web browser, so there is no need to download any special software. Feedback from clients who have already tried out telehealth with our therapists is that that the sessions feel surprisingly similar to a regular visit, and sometimes the sessions even lead to new therapeutic insights and / or treatment breakthroughs. Why? Because webcams provide therapists with a small window into their clients' home environment, which therapists typically do not otherwise have an opportunity to see.
So, if you're a new client looking to schedule your first appointment via telehealth, or if you're an existing client looking to switch your next appointment to take place via telehealth instead, give us a call or send us and email. We'll get you scheduled and set up for a virtual visit with one of our therapists as soon as possible!
